Chuck Goff bass player for Toby Keith dead at 54

Carl “Chuck” Goff Jr. died Wednesday night in a two car crash in a rural part of Cleveland County near Oklahoma City.

According to authorities when first responders arrived one vehicle was on top of the other. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the accident. The driver of the second vehicle was not seriously injured.

The 54-year-old Goff had been with Toby Keith’s band for well over 16 years, working as both band leader and bass player.

Toby Keith posted on his site, “We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our band member, Chuck Goff. He was a close friend for over 25 years, the band leader and bass player. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.”

Goff co-wrote “Upstairs Downtown” and “You Ain’t Much Fun” on Toby Keith’s 1994 album “Boomtown.” Protection Status
