Meadow Vista man arrested after foot chase
The Placer County Sheriff’s Department is reporting today that a Meadow Vista man was arrested on commercial burglary charges after deputies pursued the man on foot through Meadow Vista.
On Monday, 30-year-old James Everett Daniel was caught on surveillance cameras walking away with a chain saw at the local True Value hardware store in Meadow Vista.
The following morning, Daniel’s was seen in the area of Volley Road in Meadow Vista. Deputies responded to the area0, spotting the deputies Daniels high-tailed it into the woods. Daniel’s eluded police for a time, including the sheriff’s K-9 unit.
A few house later an alert resident contacted 911 reporting a man matching Daniel’s description running through the backyards on Volley Road. Deputies were still in the area when the call came in and were able to apprehend Daniels inside a recreational vehicle parked in front of a house on Volley Road.
Daniel faces charges for commercial burglary and resisting arrest. Daniel’s also had a $100,000 Placer County warrant for child endangerment.
It’s unknown if the RV was Daniel’s.
The chain saw was reunited with its rightful owner.
