ROSEVILLE, Calif. – As parents and children gathered at Roseville’s Galleria to escape the heat Sunday, a woman started spraying a mother and her two children with pepper spray.

According to the Roseville Police Department a mother, her two children and a store employee were transported to a local hospital for treatment after a woman pulled out a can of pepper spray and targeted the mother. According to police the two were in an argument when the woman shot the others with the pepper spray.

The mother was shopping in The Children’s Place store with her two children, both under the age of five, when an argument ensued. Police believe there may have been three others involved in the argument and they were treated at the scene.

According to Roseville Police Department spokesperson Dee Dee Gunther, Roseville dispatchers could hear screaming in the background when the call came in.

The incident has shocked shoppers leaving some questioning the number of security guards working the mall. Shopper Andrea Shank told CBS13, “I think it’s terrible, dangerous. Maybe they need more security guards.”
