ROSEVILLE, Calif. – The Roseville Police Department is trying to help a 14-year-old girl find her competition BMX bike by Wednesday night, so she can use it in an upcoming race this weekend.

Saturday in the Maidu/east Roseville area between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into a locked SUV on East Colonial Parkway and stole, among other things, a very special BMX racing bike.

The teen is competing in a BMX national championship this weekend and someone has donated a bike for her to use for the competition. However, the girl would like to be able to compete on a bike she is familiar and confident with in a competition setting.

The bike was purchased after the girl raised the money to buy the bike. The bike is a Haro Prosize BMX racing bike with black forks, purple hubs and rainbow spokes.

If you’ve seen this distinctive bike around the neighborhood or have any information about where it might be, give us a call at 774-5000 extension 1, or submit a tip.  You can submit a tip anonymously through our website at http://www.roseville.ca.us/police(select “submit a tip” from the menu on the left), or text your tip to CRIMES (274637), starting your tip with the word “ROSEVILLE”.
