DAVIS, CA – According to CBS13, a 16-year-old has been arrested for the April murders of a Davis couple.

The Davis Police Department along with the FBI, the California Department of Justice, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, the West Sacramento Police and the Dixon Police served warrants and were conducting a search of a condo next door to the murdered couple. Investigators were seen dressed in white suits removing items from the home.

A family member has informed CBS that a 16-year-old was arrested. No other details of the alleged killer were available.

The condo was vacated just two days after 87-year-old Oliver “Chip” Northup and his wife, 76-year-old Claudia Maupin, were found stabbed to death in their bed.

Officers discovered the victims after Maupin’s daughter contacted police out of concern for her mother. She called from the condo and reported that she was at the house and the lights were on, but she had not entered the home. When officers arrived they discovered the grisly scene.
