Motorcyclist injured in Marysville accident

MARYSVILLE, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with a car that turned in front of him.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 58-year-old Marysville resident Debra Hecker made a left turn in her 2004 Cadillac Escalade onto Rancho Road Friday afternoon. Hecker did not notice 51-year-old Sutter County resident Gary Russ approaching on his motorcycle.

Russ attempted to swerve out of the way of the Escalade, but was unable to avoid a collision with Heckler, ultimately ramming into the side of the SUV.

Russ was thrown from his motorcycle, suffering major injuries.

Russ was wearing a helmet at the time. There was no further word on Russ’ condition after being rushed to a local hospital.

Officer did not believe alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident. Protection Status
