Sacramento shooting victim dies
SACRAMENTO, CA – A man shot earlier this week while driving in his car on Roseville Road has died.
According to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department, 34-year-old Ralph Squires was driving with two other people on Roseville Road between Tacomic Drive and Oakhollow Drive at around 3:15 a.m. on Monday, when another vehicle pulled alongside and fired multiple times into the vehicle, hitting Squires and a 39-year-old male passenger.
Squires was driving the vehicle, and a female passenger, who was not injured, was able to gain control of the vehicle and pull over in the 5100 block of Dream Court. She got out of the car and started yelling for help.
Deputies arrived and discovered Squires shot multiple times in the upper torso and the male passenger with a single gunshot wound to the lower body. The male passenger is expected to live.
No descriptive information was available regarding the suspect(s) or the vehicle associated with the shooting. The motive for this incident remains under investigation at this time.
