Man comes to woman’s rescue in Roseville

Roseville Police BadgeROSEVILLE, CA – A man jumped into action on Saturday to rescue a woman who claims she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend.

The Roseville Police Department responded to a call on Sunday, just before 3 p.m., regarding suspicious circumstances between a man and a woman, at a gas station in the 8600 block of Sierra College Boulevard.

A woman was screaming for help and was apparently attempting to get away from a man. The good samaritan, seeing what was happening, seized the moment and used his car to block the man from fleeing the scene. It’s unknown if the man was wearing a cape, but we’d like to think so.

When officers arrived, the woman said that her ex-boyfriend, identified as 20-year-old Rene Mauricio Perez from Sacramento, had kidnapped her the previous night from Rancho Cordova, not allowing her to leave. The woman did say that she was not harmed during the ordeal.

Officers searched Perez’s vehicle and discovered evidence that he may have been selling methamphetamine. After further investigation it was discovered that the brilliant Perez, was driving around in what could only be described as a stolen car. Wow!

Officers acknowledged Perez’s brilliance by arresting him on suspicion of kidnapping, vehicle theft, possessing methamphetamine for sale, and other related charges.

Hat’s off to the good samaritan – well played. Protection Status
