Family dispute turns deadly in Citrus Heights
CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA – A man was shot and killed after a family dispute in Citrus Heights on Friday.
According to Citrus Heights Police, officers were called out to the 7600 block of Kensington Drive at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday after reports of a shooting.
Officers responded to 7613 Kensington Drive and discovered 27-year-old Daniel A. Rexius suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the shooting was a result of a family argument. Neighbors did say they heard people arguing just prior to hearing a single gunshot.
According to real estate listings the home is owned by Daniel’s father Peter Rexius. It is unknown if Peter was home at the time of the incident, or which family member was taken into custody.
Father and son fight:
In 2007 police were called to a residence in Citrus Heights after Daniel and his dad got into a fight. It’s unknown if charges were filed against either one.
