Reminder from City of Roseville

City of Roseville, CAROSEVILLE, CA – The City of Roseville wants to remind citizens, specifically registered voters, that when completing an initiative petition you only have to provide your name, address and signature.

Election officials do not require any other information such as Social Security numbers or driver’s license numbers, to validate petition signers as registered voters.

The city recommends not providing your Social Security number or other official ID numbers to signature gatherers or any other strangers, because of the danger of identity theft.

However, when registering to vote, you will be asked for additional information including your date of birth, California driver’s license or ID number if you have one, and the last four digits of your Social Security number if you have one.

Rather than providing this detailed information to someone you don’t know, the city suggests that you complete the voter’s registration card and mail it yourself to the county elections office. Better yet, you can register to vote on the California Secretary of State’s website at . Protection Status
