Man caught taking photos of children in Halloween store
SACRAMENTO, CA – A man had been accused of photographing small female children in a South Sacramento Halloween store, and now investigators are trying to locate other victims.
The Sacramento Sheriff’s Department Hi Tech Crimes Task Force and Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying potential child victim’s after finding a large amount of photographs of unidentified children on the cellular telephone of a man arrested for Child Annoyance.
On Monday, October 21, 2013, the Sheriff’s Department received a complaint of a man inside of a seasonal Halloween store in the south Sacramento County area. The caller said the man was following small children and taking photographs of a female child’s private area from his cell phone.
When deputies arrived the suspect, identified as 67-year-old Garth Mendenhall Clark, had left the area.
On Wednesday deputies were able to find Clark near his RV in a parking lot. After questioning Clark and finding numerous photos of children on his cell phone, he was promptly arrested.
Deputies found at least 50 photos of small female children.
Clark was expected to be released from the Sacramento County Jail on Thursday since the offense is only considered a misdemeanor.
Clark was identified as a white male adult with brown hair, green eyes. He stands 5’4” tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. CLARK drives a mid-size recreational vehicle with out-of-state plates.
