Name of suspect shot on I5 identified

Police-lightsSTOCKTON, CA – Officials have identified the man who was shot and killed by Stockton police officers this morning on Interstate 5 as 43-year-old Robert Craig Perry.

Perry was wanted for attempted murder after a brutal stabbing last month in San Jose.

When California Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull Perry over on Thursday morning along Interstate 5, he led officers on a chase, at times reaching speeds of 115 mph.

When his vehicle became disabled Perry jumped out of his vehicle wielding a knife. A Stockton police officer fired multiple rounds at Perry after he refused to comply with her commands. Perry was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. Protection Status
