3 dead from flu in Stanislaus County
MODESTO, CA – Three people have been confirmed killed by influenza in Stanislaus County.
According to authorities, two of the three died from the H1N1 strain. The Stanislaus County Health Services Agency warns that flu activity is on the rise in the county.
Just last week a 61-year-old Sacramento woman became the first reported death of the flu season, she died from the H1N1 flu strain.
The California Department of Public Health is warning Californians that the H1N1 is the predominant strain circulating throughout the state.
According to KCRA13, Sacramento County Public Health Officer, Dr. Olivia Kasirye, said that ten people in Sacramento County alone have been admitted to intensive care units with the flu so far this season.
With the peak for flu season just around the corner State officials are warning people to get their flu shots.
