Gaga’s Lil’ Monsters Beat Out by Bieber Nation

Concert Stock PhotographyA year ago the race was on ““ Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber shooting it out to be the first to reach a billion views. Lady Gaga won that race making her the queen of all things social.

But wait!

Unbeknownst to all those Little Monsters that follow Lady Gaga’s every move, the Bieberholics have been busily recruiting beliebers across the nation and the biebersphere.

Bieber has just blown by Lady Gaga to become the first artist ever to reach 2 billion YouTube views, this according to social-media stats service Currently they have Bieber at 2,012,524,264 views and Gaga at 1,887,277,009.

Unfriggin’ beliebable!

How is that even possible? Because Bieber has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube, giving him nearly 94 million views a month.

For you non-beliebers out there ““ Bieber started his career on YouTube when at 12 years old he posted some videos and ended up with millions of views. This caught the attention of Scooter Braun and Usher. The rest, as they say, is history.

Not is all lost Little Monsters. According to you’re still leading the way on Facebook with 44,739,729 fans and Twitter with 15,276,277 followers. This compared to Justin’s 37,122,624 Facebook fans and 13,993,268 Twitter followers.

So what has catapulted Bieber into the top slot? His latest Christmas release “Mistletoe,” which currently has over 30 million views and climbing.

Damn! And I thought he would just fade off into the sunset.

Looks like I’m headed to the doctors. I need to get a bieber shot. The last thing I need is to catch bieber fever.

I hate to be an enabler, but here’s the Mistletoe video. . .

From our WTF Department

Nirvana Nevermind Album PhotographI’m sure everyone read WTF to mean What The F***, but what it really means is What The Facebook.

Corny I know, but read on .  .  .

Nirvana’s iconic album Nevermind is celebrating it’s twenty year anniversary. That’s quite a milestone, especially if anyone reading this remembers the release way back in September 1991.

You remember 1991 right? That was the year of Desert Storm and gas was just north of a dollar at $1.12 per gallon, and you could still afford to go to a concert. There was also the firestorm in the Oakland hills that burned thousands of homes and killed 25 people. Sadly that was also the year we lost Freddie Mercury lead singer of Queen due to the AIDS virus.

So to celebrate this monumental moment the bands label, Universal, is planning to sell a 4-CD/1-DVD reissue of the album. However, Facebook has taken issue with cover art of a naked baby boy floating in a pool just letting it all hang out. According to Facebook the image violates it Terms of Use policy.

This hit the news twenty years ago! It’s old news. Facebook – get over yourselves. You are not the internet police, Google is.

Just relax and take a hit of this wild ass weed I just scored with my medical card. After all, we have progressed as a society – at least I’d like to think we have.

Later dude .  .  . I have a concert to get to.

Google+ a Concert Venue?

Female Artist Connects With Fans in Live Virtual Concert

Facebook users are migrating to Google’s new social network, Google+, for innovative features like the Hangout technology, which allows 10 people to interact on live video simultaneously. The new technology has created a buzz in the social media world, with one of its most exciting uses being the first official virtual concert performed by singer/songwriter Daria Musk.

The New Concert Venue?

Pushing the limits of this new Google+ technology, Musk performed a 6.5 hour virtual concert that became a worldwide phenomenon, ultimately reaching thousands of viewers around the globe, from Norway to Australia to Argentina. Daria performed all night for fans who created an etiquette of staying for a few songs before leaving the Hangout so that fans-in-waiting could jump in.

The response from fans around the world caused the media to pick up the story, while Musk has landed on’s list of “The Most Interesting People to Circle on Google+.” Meanwhile, Google’s top engineers are collaborating with Musk to host a second concert this Saturday, July 23rd at 7 p.m. ET., creating a live streaming channel on www.HangoutParty.comthat will allow an unlimited number of viewers around the world to watch and listen.”While Facebook has created a platform that has changed the way people connect online through sharing pictures and updates, Google+ took it one step further by allowing people to interact in real time with video and voice capabilities, changing the very nature of how people socialize on these networks,” said Sean Wolfington, owner of Tier 10 Marketing, the agency which architected the digital marketing strategy for Grammy Award-winning musician Shakira and that now represents Musk. “Traditionally record labels dictated which artists get exposure. Now Google+ gives artists an opportunity to find fans, and gives fans the opportunity to find artists. This interactive video conferencing platform turns fans into friends by allowing them to collaborate directly with the artist, and it’s changing the music industry.”

“Google+ changed my life on Saturday night because I was able to connect with fans from all around the world,” said Musk. “My heart is bursting with joy and I’m forever changed.”

I think is a great tool for artists to get their names out there and meet new fans. As for me, I’m heading over to Google+ to check it out, but I think I’d rather be watching a concert at venues like Thunder Valley Casino and Resort. Especially their summer concert series, or even a larger venue like Power Balance Pavilion.
