CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Country music singer Carrie Underwood took a big Texas dive Thursday night when she was tripped up by her Texas size heels and her shirt.

As the 30-year-old was performing at her Corpus Christi show in Texas Thursday night, Underwood ended up on her butt after her 5-inch stilettos got caught up in her long flowing shirt.

Underwood didn’t skip a beat – okay maybe one beat – but she kept on singing!

The best part of the story is Underwood’s own reaction to her misstep, as she responded to fans on Twitter.

Adele’s 21 tops in music sales for 2012

AdeleNielson Soundscan has reported that Adele has landed the #1 spot for the second year in a row for her album “21,” beating out Taylor Swift’s new album “Red.”

While everyone is clamoring to report Adele’s accomplishment, they are neglecting to inform their readers that Taylor Swift’s “Red” wasn’t released until October of 2012, while “21” was up for grabs for the entire year.

Breaking it down Adele gets the number one slot with “21,” selling 4.41 million records. The second place winner is Swift with “Red,” coming in second with 3.11 million records sold. “21” had 12 months of sales, while “Red” was released at the end of October, giving “Red” a tad over two months of sales.

Who’s the winner here?

Swift is kicking some major chords!

Adele’s numbers are impressive, especially when you consider the third place winner, One Direction’s “Up All Night,” which went on sale in March and only sold 1.62 million albums. That’s nine months of sales.

The other winner is One Direction, who not only came in third place, but fifth place as well, just behind Mumford and Sons, giving them close to three million in sales.

Another item to note is the number of country artists appearing on the top 10 compared to past years. Is this due to American Idol churning out the likes of Carrie Underwood, and more recently Scotty McCreery?

Pandora goes to the Grammys

Pandora, Pepsi and The Recording Academy® Provide Music Fans with Inside Look at Best New Artist GRAMMY® Nominees, via Video Series and Genre Stations

Pandora, PepsiCo Inc. and The Recording Academy announced an original content video series showcasing the 54th GRAMMY Best New Artist nominees.

The Best New Artist video series includes exclusive interviews with the Band Perry, Bon Iver, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and Skrillex. During the interviews, the artists discuss the evolution of their careers, share their excitement surrounding their Best New Artist nomination and describe their anticipation for the awards show.

“To commemorate the excitement for Music’s Biggest Night with the launch of a dozen GRAMMY genre stations and the first-ever Best New Artist video series is exciting,” said Evan Greene, Chief Marketing Officer, The Recording Academy. “We were pleased to extend this innovative program to Pandora users through our partnership with Pepsi.”
