In a press release today, Maroon 5’s front man Adam Levine and ID Perfumes announced the release of Levine’s signature line of fragrances for both men and women.
According to “The Voice” coach, “I have been extremely passionate about this fragrance collection from the beginning. I find the things that inspire me in my everyday surroundings and express who I am as a person, which led me to the creative process of developing these scents. My goal was to create a line for men and women that is complex in its notes yet intriguing and invigorating,” Levene wrote in a statement.
The bottle is in the shape of an old style microphone, with a unique silver weighted mesh cap complete with a black stem resembling the wire leading to the microphone.
The fragrances will be sold in 1.0, 1.7, and 3.4 fl. oz. sizes at suggested retail prices of $35, $45, and $65, respectively. The line will initially be available at Macy’s and Macys.com in the US. It will also be available at Shopper’s Drug Mart in Canada. There are plans to extend distribution throughout the year.
To kick off the launch of his new line of fragrances, Levine will appear at Macy’s Century City in Los Angeles this Thursday, Feb. 7 and and Macy’s Herald Square in New York next Friday, Feb. 15.
Based on the description of the men’s Eau De toilette it sounds more like something you would want to drink, as it has a “vibrant rush of mandarin, grapefruit, and lemongrass,” Levine did add some sandalwood and cedarwood fragrances to give it a more, “intensely masculine fragrance.”
The women’s Eau de Parfum boasts “an undeniably sexy signature”, with a hint of jasmine, rose, and vanilla, mixed with a healthy amount of a floral woody scent.
Levine has been known to branch out musically in the past with the likes of Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Gym Class heroes. This is the first time he has decided to branch out into other areas outside of music, following other super stars like Lady Gaga and Beyonce, who release their own fragrances. This makes good business sense as Maroon 5’s new album continues to climb the charts, and Levine’s popularity continues to soar as coach on the hit television show “The Voice.”
