NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – A man died Friday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a North Highlands home.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a home in North Highlands after a man went to a local fire station asking for help. The man said a relative had fired a gun in the home, but wasn’t aiming at anyone.
Deputies were dispatched to the 3700 block of Floral Drive and promptly surrounded the home. Family members advised deputies that the man may have mental health issues.
After trying unsuccessfully to make contact with the man, SWAT team members entered the home and found his body at approximately 12 p.m.
