NEW ORLEANS, LA – Reality TV star and model Gia Allemand has died from an apparent suicide. She was 29.

Allemand was a former cast member of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” and the 14th season of “The Bachelor.” She was also a model and girlfriend of NBA Pelican player Ryan Anderson.

According to her publicist, Allemand was rushed to University Hospital Monday night following “a serious emergency medical event.” She was immediately placed on life support.

In a statement her publicist said, “While in her residency in New Orleans on Monday night, Ms. Allemand was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt.”

Her publicist went on to say, “Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side.”

An outpouring of emotion is hitting Twitter:

Vienna Girardi, who won season 14 of “The Bachelor” tweeted “Gia you are my angel! You changed so many lives with your beautiful soul and will be missed and loved forever”

Jake Pavelka, who appeared on the “Bachelor” tweeted: “I had to pull over, I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel.”

Jenna Burke, who was a contestant on “The Bachelor” during season 16 tweeted: “We lost a loved one but heaven gained an angel I will miss you sweet Gia Allemand. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts. [Heart] You”

Sean Lowe from “The Bachelor” season 17 tweeted, “My prayers go out to @GiaAllemand ‘s family during this time. Life on earth is but a vapor and she’s with our Lord now.”
