RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – The man who was struck and killed Friday afternoon by a Sacramento Regional Transit light-rail train has been identified.
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s site, 47-year-old Michael Karr of Rancho Cordova was struck and killed by a train at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Train service was disrupted on the Gold Line, at the Mather Field/Mills Station, after Karr was struck and killed.
Karr was hit near the corner of Mather Field and Folsom Boulevard. The train was heading to downtown Sacramento at the time of the accident.
Shuttle buses were provided for passengers between the Mather Field/Mills Station and the Zinfandel Station during the outage.
The accident is still under investigation.
