Rihanna talks about her relationship with Chris Brown

20130129-rihanna-1176-306x-1359491519Rolling Stone Magazine today released an excerpt from an interview with Rihanna about her relationship with Chris Brown. Telling the magazine that, “Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake.”

In the latest issue due out Friday, Rihanna talks all things Chris Brown.

When talking about her reconciliation with Brown, who in 2009 was arrested for assaulting her on the eve of the Grammy Awards, she said, “I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” she tells Rolling Stone contributing editor Josh Eells, “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

Brown plead guilty to assault for the 2009 incident, performing community service, he remains on probation. “When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” Rihanna says. “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about sh-t. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

According to Rihanna, if Brown were to display a hint of his past behavior towards her, she is ready to walk. “He doesn’t have the luxury of f–king up again,” she says. “That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

However cozy their relationship has become, Browns anger management still remains in question after Sunday night’s brawl that took place outside a recording studio in North Hollywood with Frank Ocean. While the investigation continues Brown is adamant that he wasn’t involved in the altercation.

Posting a photo on Instagram of Jesus on the cross, Brown posted, “Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!” Soon after posting the photo Brown made his Instagram account private posting, “Social media takes away the essence of why we are even special or icons. So with that, I’m detaching myself from that world”
